LADURÉE TO OPEN IN AUSTRALIA: Yes, it’s true, you no longer need to jump on a plane to Paris everytime you want a magnificent macaroon because there will soon be a fabulous Ladurée store open in Sydney. Now, I don’t mean to seem negative but when Zara was on its way to town around this time last year I said the same thing…Does the arrival of one of our favourite overseas destinations to Australia take away some of it’s allure? I think so. Mind you, I will certainly be making my way to the store in Sydney, after all, when I visited the Paris store last year, the line rivalled a One Direction t-shirt signing and that store has been there for many years. Despite this it will be rather a treat to be able to taste again what are arguably the world’s best, most luxurious macaroons and the likley reason for the sweet treat’s international fame.
Sydney will join New York, London and Japan as an international home to the delightful French dessert destination. Ladurée also recently forayed into cosmetics, launcing a macaroon inspired beauty range to add to their sweets, candles and bath products. The Sydney store is set to open in July.
